RUKU1952® Prioritises Sustainability

Protecting the environment is close to our hearts.

Some questions keep coming back… but one concerns us more than any other: How will we live in the future? Our sustainable behaviour will shape both our future and that of our planet.

We take responsibility

As a leading producer of high-quality beer garden table sets, we are committed to values such as quality, sustainability, and responsibility. We make it a point to handle the resources we use with care and to focus on the durability of our products.

In addition, our company is continuously working to make a meaningful contribution to climate protection—together with the other brands of the Zingerle Group, we are constantly developing new projects aimed at promoting a more sustainable environment and society.

Our Own Energy Supply

The photovoltaic system on the roof of our headquarters in Italy covers 100% of our energy needs.

Eco-Friendly Heating

Heating in our Italian facility is supplied by the district heating network, which meets the entire heat demand of the building.

Combating Climate Change

We are actively involved in reforestation projects for local woodlands.

Sustainable Packaging

We participate in the “Green Dot” dual system, ensuring that all of our sales packaging is recycled and reintegrated into the raw materials cycle.

Energy-Efficient Lighting

All our production sites use LED lighting, which consumes less energy than conventional bulbs.

Short Supply Chain

We source raw materials from local regions to shorten transport routes. The wood used in our Romanian joinery comes exclusively from Romanian forests.

Sustainable Production of Beer Garden Table Sets

Wood, as a natural and renewable resource, produces no harmful waste and—when used responsibly—has no negative impact on the environment. That’s our foundation! We use only carefully selected, air- and kiln-dried spruce wood for our tables and benches—sourced from forests in Romania and processed at our second production site. And because we’ve made a conscious choice to adopt sustainable practices that have a positive impact on the climate, we actively support the reforestation of these valuable woodlands.

Climate Protection Project: Reforesting Romanian Forests

Since 2019, we’ve been supporting a reforestation programme in Romania’s Harghita mountain region. To help offset emissions, we plant trees every year in these forests. In 2022, together with the Zetea Forest Cooperative, we planted 7,550 trees—including 6,195 spruces, 755 larches, and 600 ash trees—reforesting 20% of the wood we consumed that year.

We do all this—and more—because we’re committed to protecting the environment as best we can.

The Green Dot is an environmental certificate that was awarded to us.

Green Dot

The Protected Green Dot Logo is used internationally to promote the separation, recovery, and recycling of packaging by consumers. We are part of this dual system and focus on recycling-friendly packaging design. Specifically, this means that the sales packaging we use is recycled through our participation in the dual system, thereby reintroducing valuable resources into the circular economy.

Our savings in 2023

By participating in the Dual System for the recycling of sales packaging, in 2023 we contributed to the following reductions:

  • CO2 equivalents: 5,478 kg
  • Phosphate equivalents: 257 kg
  • Primary energy: 271 GJ
  • Sulphur dioxide equivalents: 38 kg

The CO2 savings alone correspond to the amount that 5,478 m2 of forest filters from the air in one year.
